How to set up your MetaMask wallet on your desktop

MetaMaskMetaMask is an application for accessing Ethereum-based decentralized applications (DApps) in the browser. MetaMask allows users to create and manage their identities (via private keys, local client wallets, and hardware wallets such as Trezor™). When a DApp wants to perform a transaction and write it to the blockchain, the user is provided with a secure interface to review the transaction before approving or rejecting it.


Before we begin, you will need Google Chrome, as this is the most user-friendly browser for this purpose. If you haven't installed it yet, you can download it HERE.


If you already have Chrome installed on your computer, go to the official MetaMaskWebsite and click on the blue button"Download now" .

Then click on "Download now" . The image below should then be displayed. Be sure to select the Chrome option for your operating system and then click on "Install MetaMask for Chrome".

After activating the installation process, you will see a welcome screen with FoxFace.

This is the first time you are creating a wallet. Therefore, click on the button "Create wallet“ .

You must make a selection on this screen, but your wallet can still be created if you click the button. "No, thank you“click.

Enter your password, agree to the terms of useand then click on the button "Create“.

This is the most important step! The secret phrase is the only way to access your wallet if you forget your password.

 

To your secret backup phraseTo create one, click on the dark area labeled "Click here to reveal the secret words".

 

Keep your secret phrase safe.Do not save them on your computer and read all the information on this screen carefully before continuing.

To confirm your secret phrase, you must drag and drop the words into the order in which you received them. If entered correctly, the "Confirm" button will turn blue.

Click on the button"Confirm“, and you will see the congratulatory message.

You can view the account balance and address by clicking on the "Account 1" section.


You can open MetaMask in your browser by clicking on the foxface icon in the top right corner. If the foxface icon is not visible, click on the puzzle piece icon right next to it. You will find the foxface icon in the list of all browser extensions that is then displayed.

    To import your purchased tokens into MetaMask, please follow these steps.  
    1. Log in to MetaMask

    2. Select "Import Tokens"
    3. Select "Custom Token."
